I am a yoga beginner. How can I start my yoga journey?
Good news is, you are qualified to join at True Yoga Heidelberg. Because, all you require is an open-mind approach to yoga. Our classes are structured in the way that you can begin your journey, get good foundations in yoga and progress to next level.
This step-by-step method gives you a sense of growth and gaining experience in your yoga journey with us. An absolute beginner can join a group class on Saturdays and can sign-up to participate in our monthly 2 hour Workshop – Yoga for beginners.
You can also request to work 1 on 1 for personal yoga with us – this is the best way to get started and benefit from yoga.
Can I drop-in in any class?
Yes and no, because of two reasons. The first one is: it depends on your yoga experience. If you call or email us prior to your drop-in – we can suggest you the best suitable class for you to choose and get a memorable True Yoga Experience.
Second reason is: our group classes are normally full. If you drop-in, chances are the class is packed. Therefore, it is always a great idea to get in touch with us by a short phone call or email. We would be delighted to welcome you in your Drop-in class.
What should I wear?
At True Yoga, we have no dress code – Wear something comfortable clothing that allows for a range of movement—such as shorts, leggings, T-shirts—is ideal. Yoga is practiced barefoot. The good news is you do not require sport shoes, because yoga is practiced barefoot. Be mindful not using perfume or body-spray, because other people will feel comfortable that way.
I have decent yoga experience. What class is suitable for me?
If you mean that you are practicing yoga on and off for more than 1 year, we would definitely recommend you to try Ashtanga Yoga. Because this will give a clear structure to your yoga practice. And, you will reap the benefits of yoga effectively. Wednesday evening class is a good entry to Ashtanga Yoga for you.
What should I bring with me?
A towel and water bottle are enough. We have yoga mats for you at True Yoga. However, if you prefer using your mat, you are welcome to bring it along.
What time I should be at True Yoga for my yoga class?
We value your punctuality. This keep us on track with time. Ideally 10 mins prior is good. Because you will enough time to change and settle before we begin our yoga class.
What time I should be at True Yoga for my yoga class?
True Yoga normally open 20 mins before the class begins. We recommend at least 10 mins prior. Because, this keep us on track with time. . Because you will enough time to change and settle before we begin our yoga class.
I have a medical condition, and/or I’m pregnant. Can I still do yoga?
Having a medical condition does not mean you cannot practice yoga—however, an appropriate level or class will need to be discussed in advance with your teacher. Pregnant women consider choosing pregnancy yoga after their first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
Can I eat before yoga class?
Yoga should be practiced on an empty stomach. Please wait 3 hours after a heavy meal or 2 hours after a light snack before engaging in practice. You may eat again 45 minutes after class. You can sip some water, but avoid drinking lots of water during class.
